How to compare website analytics tools

Define the job first

Article counters, acquisition reports, events, user journeys and server health solve different problems. A blog needing only total reads may not need a broader platform. Evaluate the actual report if funnels or product analytics matter.

Check current official information

The comparison pages were checked against official sources on 2026-10-14, with links on each row. Umami now documents funnels, journeys, replays and heatmaps. Plausible emphasizes no cookies or persistent visitor identifiers, which differs from AntDock’s browser-storage identification.

Insufficient documentation means unverified, not unsupported. Pricing, allowances and intervals change; check official pages again before purchasing or migrating.

Test on your site

Verify first pageviews, client navigation, referrers, permissions, public widgets and failure states. Sessions, visitors, filtering and retention differ across tools; unequal totals do not by themselves demonstrate an error.

Review the source tables for Umami, Plausible, Busuanzi, Baidu Analytics and 51.la. AntDock does not automatically import other platforms’ historical totals.
